Family: it’s where it all began.
Brian Eugene (B.E.) York was an engineer who traveled the east coast throughout the 1920s inspecting everything from bridges to amusement park rides. His job kept him on the road for long periods of time—missing the births of two of his three children as a result. By 1930, he knew something had to change.
In order to spend more time with his family, B.E. York opened the York Insurance Agency in the Washington Trust Building on Washington, Pennsylvania’s Main Street. In 1933, this office evolved into the York Realty Agency.
True to its origins, York Realty has stayed within the family for three generations. Today, PA Certified General Appraiser, Broker and President Scott J. York is committed to real estate for the same reason as his grandfather: building better lives in Washington, PA.

Broker and President Scott York is a lifelong resident of Washington, Pennsylvania, a University of Pittsburgh alumnus, a proud father of two, and a full-service real estate agent with over 38 years of experience. Scott has worked with commercial/industrial, residential, storage, farm, and undeveloped-land properties representing both sellers and buyers.
In addition, since 1990, Scott has held the highest license issued by the state of Pennsylvania as a PA Certified General Appraiser. He offers top-class appraisals of all kinds of real estate, from vacant land to complex commercial/industrial properties, and has served as an expert witness in over 100 local, state, and federal trials.
